FIREBUG STUDIOS
Firebug Studios are flexible film and photography studios based in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan — just outside Cardiff, South Wales, just 7 miles from Cardiff Central Train Station. With plenty of car parking!
Our studios are used by photographers, bands, musicians, production companies and YouTubers for photo shoots, short films, teasers, music content, podcasts and even car shoots! Whether you’re an experienced filmmaker or an independent creative, we provide a relaxed, professional environment designed to make shoots run smoothly.
The studios are spacious, air-conditioned, and include separate kitchens, changing rooms and make-up areas, making them suitable for both small and crewed productions.
Firebug Studios is run by lighting specialists, and studio hire includes a range of professional lighting, with more for hire. We offer camera and sound equipment hire, and can provide practical advice or experienced crew if you need extra support on set.
We’re proud of the things we’ve worked on and the creative people we’ve met along the way. We believe strongly in high customer service — when our clients are happy, we’re happy.

We visited the weekend just gone and we made the best decision to film at Firebug. We ended up filming for a music video and I just say .. There are many studios I’ve visited in the last few years, but this one by far is one that stands out more than anything! – The staff are not only professional but extremely friendly, very helpful and kind. – We can’t wait to be back very soon, the equipment they have & the things you can do in there especially if you’re a creative person with great imagination is endless at Firebug. Absolutely brilliant owners, high quality studio
Absolutely brilliant owners, high quality studio, extensive lighting options and they the owners have so much gear on hand to offer, as well as support. The space is the prefect size to accommodate a small crew with places to relax, a dressing room and coffee facilities.
Will most definitely be back and haven’t stopped talking about how good this place is to others since being there.

Wonderful experience
We had a wonderful experience shooting a music video at Firebug Studios (Johanna Warren’s ‘Twisted’). Mark & Jane were so enthusiastic from the start, encouraging and supportive of our project, making sure we had everything we needed and more – helping us to bring together a crew for the shoot at short notice, and going above and beyond to help us build a set. We’d recommend the studio to anyone looking to shoot a music video, promotion or short film.. it’s excellently equipped and run with a real passion for creating great work – as well as the valuable expertise of a world class lighting engineer. Hope to work there again in the near future!
